About the role
The Opportunity:
Red River Co-op is recruiting for the position of Deli Clerk at St. Vital Food Store located at 850 Dakota Street , in Winnipeg . This position reports to the Deli Manager.
Essential responsibilities of the position include the following:
- Deliver world-class customer service that is fast, friendly and efficient.
- Maintain sections of merchandise (luncheon meat, cheese, home meal replacement, hot food, bulk product, packaged product) as assigned in an effective manner. Ensure first-in, first-out rotation is followed at all times, and that close-dated product is reported to the Deli Manager.
- Ensure the deli department is properly stocked with merchandise and faced at all times.
- Receive, inspect, and store orders upon delivery to ensure all product is immediately stored in proper temperature-controlled environment.
- Prepare fresh value-added product and home meal replacement items as per established Co-op recipes and procedures. Ensure consistency in ingredients used and preparation method at all times. Perform general housekeeping duties to ensure department image and safety standards are followed.

About You:
To be successful in this role, you will bring the following skills and competencies:
- Excellent interpersonal skills. We’re looking for someone who builds great relationships with co-workers and customers.
- Strong customer focus and interest in serving others.
- Previous experience in a retail deli department is considered an asset. Ability to lift 30 pounds repeatedly.
