True North Cannabis Co. & True North Vape Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent Hours: 40–44 hours per week Store Hours: 8:00 AM – 11:30 PM, 7 days a week LEAD. INSPIRE. GROW. True North Cannabis Co. is looking for an experienced and motivated Store Manager to lead one of our retail locations. As a Store Manager, you are responsible for the overall success of your store, including sales performance, team development, operational excellence, inventory management, and regulatory compliance. WHAT YOU'LL DO LEADERSHIP * Recruit, train, coach, and develop a high-performing team. * Lead by example and create a positive, accountable workplace culture. * Conduct performance reviews, coaching, and progressive discipline. * Build employee engagement and support career development. STORE OPERATIONS * Manage all daily store operations. * Ensure proper staffing and schedule coverage. * Oversee opening, closing, cash handling, deposits, and banking. * Monitor KPIs and implement action plans to improve performance. * Maintain company standards for cleanliness, merchandising, and customer service. CUSTOMER EXPERIENCE * Deliver an exceptional customer experience every day. * Resolve customer concerns professionally and effectively. * Ensure staff provide knowledgeable and compliant product recommendations. COMPLIANCE * Ensure compliance with: * AGCO Registrar's Standards * Cannabis Licence Act * Health Canada requirements * Smoke-Free Ontario Act * Federal tobacco and vape legislation * Maintain audit-ready records and documentation. * Ensure proper ID verification and responsible sales practices. * Protect the store's licence through consistent compliance. INVENTORY & LOSS PREVENTION * Oversee inventory receiving, counts, reconciliations, and investigations. * Manage product ordering and inventory accuracy. * Minimize shrink and support loss prevention initiatives. BUSINESS PERFORMANCE * Drive sales and profitability. * Monitor labour costs and scheduling. * Analyze store performance and identify opportunities for growth. * Achieve company sales, compliance, and operational goals. QUALIFICATIONS * Minimum 3 years of retail management experience. * Previous leadership experience in cannabis retail preferred. * CannSell Certification (required). * Strong understanding of retail operations and inventory management. * Excellent leadership, communication, coaching, and problem-solving skills. * Experience managing payroll, scheduling, and labour budgets. * Comfortable working in a fast-paced, highly regulated retail environment. * Successful criminal background check. * Must meet the legal age requirements to sell regulated products. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS * Stand and walk for extended periods. * Lift and carry up to 50 lbs. * Frequently bend, kneel, squat, reach, and stock merchandise. * Work in an environment where cannabis and nicotine vapour odours may be present.
