The Retail Store Manager roles takes an “on the floor” approach to management, working alongside hourly team members to lead, coach and support the team while contributing to the processing of donations. As a Store Manager, you will contribute to Goodwill's mission by supporting the success of the donated goods retail business, helping to create jobs and opportunities within the community, and promoting environmental sustainability through the reuse and recycling of donated goods. What You Will Do: * Provide world-class customer service by helping customers, answering questions, and sharing your passion of our mission on the sales floor. * Responsible for managing the donated goods retail business in accordance with our river system business model, guiding principles, organizational goals, procedures and policies. * Participate and host mission placements through assessments, training and community partnerships. * Prepare and submit an annual sales and expense budget for consideration. * Train, develop and supervise team members. * Schedule staff while maintaining budgeted wage to sales ratios. * Prepare time and attendance report. * Follow Goodwill’s Policies and Health & Safety guidelines. * Contribute to teamwork with added activities. * Satisfactory criminal reference check - vulnerable persons check. What We Are Looking For: * Effective leadership characteristics: humility, empathy, courage – to inspire and enact change. * Exceptional listening skills and high emotional intelligence, respecting differences between various ethnic groups and gender in the workplace * Enthusiasm: excited to work with other people and teams. * Flexibility: able to work at various times, including days, evenings, and weekends. * Communication: effectively speaking with and listening to team members and customers to create a positive workplace. * Problem-solving: finding solutions to problems, being accurate. * 2- 5 years of experience managing people and processes simultaneously. * Post-secondary education an asset. * Health and safety experience an asset. * Satisfactory criminal reference check - vulnerable persons check.
