Observe customer activity and identify potential loss prevention concerns while providing excellent customer service. Use strong communication and de-escalation techniques to resolve conflicts and challenging situations professionally. Respond promptly to security incidents, disturbances, and emergencies, documenting actions taken as required. Conduct regular patrols of the sales floor and surrounding areas to identify safety and security risks. Work closely with store management and law enforcement when required to support investigations and incident response. Qualifications for Retail Security Guard Be authorized to work in Canada Hold a valid BC security license Hold a valid AST certificate - Required First aid certification - an asset Excellent verbal de-escalation and conflict resolution techniques Able to remain calm under pressure and handle escalated situations professionally Strong report writing and technology skills Good eyesight and excellent ability to maintain focus Physically able to stand and patrol for extended periods Alert, detail-oriented, with strong situational awareness Exceptional customer service skills This could be more than a job! Candidates must hold a valid BC security license and an AST certificate, with first aid certification considered an asset. Strong verbal de-escalation skills, physical stamina for patrolling, and the ability to remain calm under pressure are required.
